HTML changes

The whole redesign was done with CSS only.

Shipped to production

The reworked CSS went into production during my internship.

The mission

The R&D team I joined develops and maintains Dassault Systèmes' internal web Git platform. Its interface was plain HTML: grey and dated. I redesigned its appearance: the theme, the colors, and a more modern look aligned with the Dassault Systèmes visual identity. I worked only with CSS, without ever touching the HTML.

My role. Computer engineering intern in the R&D team that develops and maintains the internal Git platform.

Tools

What I worked with.

CSS

The code layer used to style the whole platform.

HTML

The existing structure I had to work with, without editing it.

Git

Version control for the platform code and for my changes.

Challenges

What got in the way.

Responsiveness

Adapting the interface to different screen sizes is hard when the page structure cannot be modified.

No access to the HTML

Every visual change had to be achieved through CSS alone, which constrained the design choices.

Deliverables

What I delivered.

Achieved

Reworked CSS

A new theme for the platform, delivered and sent to production during my internship.
