Image Processing

Summary

The lab started from a bank of images of railway signal frames, called chassis. The goal was an algorithm based only on classical image processing: it extracts the shape of the chassis, compares it with a database to find the signal's name, then reads the color of the lit light to decode what the signal means. The result is shown as a labeled bounding box.

My role. Everything stated above.

Tools

What I worked with.

Python

The language of the whole algorithm.

C

Color masks

To transform the colors of the images and isolate the shapes and the lit light.
